Back Stage as we leave Copenhagen

Yesterday we had the pleasure of spending the day in Copenhagen.  For most of us it was our first time visiting Denmark.  Copenhagen ranks #1 on the happiness index and people did seem to be in a good mood.  More than half of the population bicycles to and from work and there are bikes everywhere.  Many of them aren’t even locked up!  I guess people are too happy to steal them!

After a day of sight seeing, last night was our first Prairie Home Companion show on the ship.  We enjoyed being part of the production and meeting some audience members that we had not yet encountered during the cruise.

Nothing is big on a cruise ship and the dressing room and back stage area were no exception.  Cantus takes up a lot of space so we were looking for an area to hang out in before the show as we sailed away from Copenhagen.  In my ten years of touring with Cantus I’ve (obviously) never encountered a back stage area that had a door that lead to something so incredible as what we had last night.  Perhaps to make up for the lack of space, the back stage area leads directly to a large deck in the front of the ship.  We had to take a moment for a photo op—just moments before we went on stage.
