Day 2 at Sea

We all had a very smooth journey from London/Heathrow to the ship yesterday. As promised both the ship’s staff and the APHC crew make everything as easy as possible.

Cantus was scheduled in the ship’s atrium at 1:30 yesterday, just as many of the guests were arriving. It was a bit of a challenge to find the spot where the ensemble could hear each other as there was a 2-story statue of a ship in the middle of the space, but the guests clearly enjoyed it. The program was "Anthem"...part of our fall touring program about "why we sing."

In the evening, Cantus made its first appearance in the Ocean Bar, with a program of "Choral Classics."

This morning (Sunday), Cantus performed a program of “Cantus Favorites” for a lovely crowd.  The program includes “Wanting Memories,” “Ave Maria” and a work that has been part of our repertoire for years “Let Your Voice Be Heard.”  The singing has a children’s clapping game that accompanies it and for our three new singers, this was the first time they had done it in public. Aaron commented that it was even more challenging to do while standing on a ship rolling a bit from side to side.

A happy audience!

Cantus sings "Let Your Voice Be Heard" with the accompanying clapping game...on a boat!

We'll dock in Copenhagen tomorrow and Cantus sings on "A Prairie Home Companion" in the evening. More to come!
